Survivor Story

Volunteer Spotlight: Lori Edwards

In 2017, Lori Edwards was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Her response? She finished treatment in 2018, continued her career, while raising her daughters, and started participating in the Kay Yow Cancer Celebration Run/Walk the next year.

In 2022, Lori was an honorary co-chair for the Celebration Run/Walk, where she galvanized her friends, family, and her RE/MAX United family in support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Through the Celebration Run/Walk platform, which is dedicated to uplifting and encouraging survivors, their families, and caregivers, Lori shares her story as a survivor who is thriving after her diagnosis – an inspiration to many, many women who are currently facing the realities of a cancer diagnosis.

“Lori is a champion not only at RE/MAX United, but in our entire community by showing you can beat cancer and move forward with your life,” said RE/MAX United owner, John Wood. “She has been an inspiration to so many others for the manner that she dealt with her treatments and then continued full speed ahead with her life. Her family, her faith, and her friends are very important to Lori, but she is always willing to take the time to help others within our company and through our community. We are honored to have Lori a part of RE/MAX United.”

The Fund is defined by so many faces who serve others through their generous support – time, talent, and treasure. We are thankful that Lori Edwards is one of those faces, shining brightly, inspiring others, giving hope.
