SportClips & the Kay Yow Cancer Fund

As a non-profit, life is always exciting when partnering organizations are able to take their sphere of influence and use it for the greater good. With hundreds of stores across the US, Sport Clips is a business with the opportunity to make a big impact. And their support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund just so happened by chance.

Eight years ago, former Kay Yow Cancer Fund staff member, Robin Pate, went to get a haircut at his local Sport Clips. Robin was going to get the “MVP” treatment as it was February and he needed to look sharp for the Play4Kay games nationwide.

Per usual, the store was welcoming and clean, but something different caught his eye. A flyer explained the team was fundraising for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund! In that moment, the conversation grew into a partnership between the two entities with a deep passion for sports.

Local SportClips owners meeting with Kay Yow Cancer Fund team membersFrom a single store in the Triangle to each and every store across the state of North Carolina, this cooperation can–and will– affect our fight against ALL cancers affecting women. And the better news? In 2022, the Sport Clips promotion benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund will be held in June!

To date, this partnership has created more than $80,000 in impact. This year, YOU have the chance to be a part of continuing to make a difference in the lives of women and their families!

To participate, simply visit your local Sport Clips and ask for the MVP. $1 from every MVP haircut from June 5 to June 11 will be donated to the Fund. Let’s fight cancer and look good doing it!
