Jasmine (Jas) Thomas is a WNBA player for the Connecticut Sun. Some things that you might already know about Jas are her height at 5’ 9”, she played at Duke University, and she has scored over 3,400 points in her career.
What you won’t find on a stat sheet is Jasmine Thomas’ passion for people. Her mother was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. Since then, she has grown into a strong advocate for women’s empowerment, health, equity, and inclusion. She has been a national brand ambassador for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund since the summer of 2019. During this time, she has not only willingly, but eagerly represented and endorsed the Kay Yow Cancer Fund by sharing the Fund’s message and connecting her personal story to our mission. Her efforts have galvanized the support of the Connecticut Sun community, coaches, players, and fans as well as led to a partnership with the WNBPA.
In 2019 she held a Pink Game Charity Dinner, in 2020 she held a virtual 5K, in 2021 she spearheaded a partnership between the WNBPA and the Fund, and now in 2022, she’s hosting a Sneakerball fundraiser around all cancers affecting women.
Jas is a force to be reckoned with on and off the court, fighting for the health equity of all women affected by cancer. It is safe to say her impact has been felt nationwide. We are incredibly proud to have her on the Kay Yow Cancer Fund team in the fight against all cancers affecting women.
