By the headlines, you could miss the full story. Balfour Beatty Construction crews in the Raleigh-Durham area have raised over $200,000 in support of the fight against ALL cancers affecting women through their annual event which features the coming together of multiple crews, donning pink, and supporting those who have fought or are fighting cancer.
The story within the story is the person behind their efforts – Chad Humphrey. Chad is the driving force that galvanizes contractors, vendors, and work crew members culminating in a company-wide initiative. It is an amazing example of the “Power of One” – one person, rallying many others to make a difference.
This year, Chad and Balfour Beatty Construction presented the Kay Yow Cancer Fund with a check for $35,000. The presentation was translated into Spanish so that everyone in attendance could understand the importance of their efforts – the life-saving research their support is funding, the access to quality cancer healthcare underserved women are receiving due to their generosity – it is all the ripple effect of the Power of One. Thank you, Chad. Thank you, Balfour Beatty family!
