Dedicated to Women’s cancers
Board of Directors
The Kay Yow Cancer Fund Board of Directors is entrusted with and responsible for the governance and strategic leadership of the organization. The 19-member Board is comprised of the late Kay Yow’s colleagues from the women’s basketball profession, distinguished physicians, respected business leaders, prominent athletes and those closest to Yow while she was living.
The Board is divided into four different classifications. Class A represents those board members that were personally asked by Kay to serve on the Board for the duration of their lives. Class B represents the CEO of our partnering organization The V Foundation, while Class C represents the CEO of our other partnering organization the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). Class D represents all other board members serving three-year terms.
The first 15 board members were personally asked by Kay and had the pleasure of serving on the Board with her from December 3, 2007 to January 24, 2009. This special group of people and their successors are charged with upholding the legacy of Kay Yow in the fight against women’s cancers and furthering the Fund in accordance with her vision of improving the lives of those affected by this terrible disease. While the Board is comprised of a new collection of individuals each and every year, they all share one common trait – their passion for the cause.

Due to their selflessness, our Board of Directors has led the Fund through its infancy by giving their time, efforts and financial assets to bring the Fund closer to its dream of ultimately one day finding a cure for cancer.
